It’s not strange when you to talk with friends of Kaycee Anseth to begin to exchange Kaycee ghost stories. I have my own. Before Kaycee left the earthy realm, she looked forward to being a ghost. Her version of haunting is more in the friendly ghost realm. She often shows up as peacocks and foxes. […]
Teafly Peterson
For the last 20 years, I have been working as an artist and an educator. Some days I am better at one than the other. The good days are when I am excellent at both simultaneously. I love those days. I teach a variety of mediums– painting, drawing, photography, writing, film making. Mostly what I teach is how to develop your voice honestly, openly and confidently. I like to ask questions. I find it is the best way to get an answer– start with a question. What I teach is how to ask the right questions and how to not be afraid of the answers.
I work professionally as an artist. If you need a bumble bee delivering your tea, I’m the gal for you! You name it, I can probably draw or design it!
An Artist’s Life
I remember quite clearly the first time I had a conversation with Pat Clark. I was hanging an exhibition of student work from an arts residency I had completed with almost 2,000 middle school students in Central Oregon and Portland. It had been a daunting task, and a lonely one— traveling to a new school each […]

Anseth’s work often spoke of the magic of the natural […]

Stay Calm and Look to the Arts
It is not strange that in trying times we turn to the arts. That’s what they were made for. Local artists and arts organizations are getting together to offer content for people to enjoy while sheltering at home inside—including some opportunities to be creative. Remember, you don’t have to just be a viewer in these […]
A Push for a Performing Arts Center
Performers in Bend know the drill: Find a space that might work, then hope and pray it stays open, has good sound and can be easily accessible for your audience. The ongoing population growth in Bend has also meant a growth in performers and audiences. The problem: not a lot of growth in venues. A […]

Small Grants Aim to Do Big Things

One of the goals for the grant money is […]
