2016 needs to pace itself. With the passing of David Bowie a few days ago, the world was already reeling, but this morning has brought the death of the exceptionally gifted actor Alan Rickman. He is probably most famous for playing Professor Snape in the Harry Potter movies, but older folk will always remember him as terrorist Hans Gruber in Die Hard or the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. For me, as much as I love those movies, I think I loved him the most as Alexander Dane in Galaxy Quest and as Marvin the Paranoid Android in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Everyone will have their favorites though, so leave yours in the comments.
