The music lineup for the First Interstate Bank Summer Festival features a lot of talented local musicians, but Saturday night’s headliner, Leah Blevins, comes from Sandy Hook, Kentucky. She’s described as having the grit of vintage country music with the grace of gospel. Her debut album, “First Time Feeling,” feels like the diary of her life. It’s a collection of feelings and memories from her time working in Nashville while yearning for her small hometown. Blevins describes it as a timestamp of her twenties and coming-of-age story where she explores who she is and learns to maintain sobriety.
Just over a year after that release, Blevins is ready for the next chapter in her musical journey with “Hundred Different Sides.” ย Her heartfelt songs on that album explore themes of fear, self-discovery and leaving the past behind. They tell stories of life, love and loss.
Blevins recently signed with Bob Doyle’s Major Bob Music for management and publishing. She’ll be performing at Summerfest Saturday, July 13, 8:30-10pm on the main stage in downtown Bend. The festival kicks off Friday night and continues through Sunday. In addition to music there are arts & crafts, vendors, food and beverage carts, ย a kid zone with bounce houses and a business showcase.
