Are you sick, tired, fed up, disgusted, depressed and angry after eight long, long, LONG years of George W. Bush? Do you wish there was something you could do to get him out of the White House sooner?
Well, there isn’t. But you can take out your frustration by hitting him in the face with a shoe – a virtual shoe, of course.
At least two on-line games have appeared on the Web inspired by this week’s shoe attack on Bush by Iraqi journalist Muntadar al-Zaidi.
At one, sockandawe.com, you throw “shoes” at a moving Bush and try to hit him as many times as possible in 30 seconds. At this writing more than eight million “shoes” have hit the target, according to the site’s counter.
The Eye’s best score so far is a meager six hits. But we intend to keep practicing … and practicing and practicing.
Warning: You might have some trouble getting the site to load because of heavy traffic. It took us four tries before we finally got in – but it was worth it.
Another game, Bush’s Boot Camp, is more sophisticated – and considerably harder. You have two “guns” with which you’re supposed to knock down flying “shoes” before they hit Bush. The most The Eye could manage to hit was one. But maybe we weren’t really trying.

You just keep proving what a sick and bitter old man you really are!!!
I played the shoe game. Awesome. I did feel better afterward.
Jed, you just keep proving what a grumpy and humorless old (or young) Republican you are.
But cheer up! Things are going to get better under President Obama. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I am humorless when it comes to disrespecting our President. I am not an Obama fan but I would not promote a video game ridiculing him.
The annoying thing with a large number of Democrats I’ve encountered is their assumption that eveyone either shares their political perspective or should. They somehow view people that disagree as less intelligent, informed or caring than themselves. Why is that? I’m all for enthusiastic political discourse, which is democracy in action, but why put it on such a personally antagonistic level? People are entitled to differing opinions. It’s okay to disagree with their position, but don’t vilify them for it. Though I’m not enamored with all of his policy, now that the Dem’s messiah Obama is elected, I believe that he will (at least from his perspective) honestly have the country’s best interests at heart (even if he makes some mistakes – and he will). I have to wonder why the Democrats couldn’t give Bush that same respect over the last eight years.
In the meantime, the rabid anti-Bush/Republican ravings on this blog make me want to spew (and chuckle a bit too)!
I got up to 8 hits. I just feel better and better the more hits I make on that head.
“I have to wonder why the Democrats couldn’t give Bush that same respect over the last eight years.”
If George W. Bush had done anything to deserve respect I would give him respect. I don’t disrespect him because he is a Republican. I respected Bush’s father, I respected Ronald Reagan in some ways and I even found some things to respect in Richard Nixon, and although I don’t have a very clear personal recollection of him I believe Eisenhower was deserving of great respect.
George W. Bush is incompetent. He is ignorant. He is arrogant. He is unethical. He is a pathological liar. His administration has led America into one disaster after another. He is the worst president in American history and it will take generations to undo the damage he has done to this country.
Give him respect? No. Not a chance. Never as long as I live.
If you think he’s incompetent in his work, you’re entitled to that opinion. Not quite sure how you figure Bush is ignorant or arrogant, but if you want to talk unethical and a pathological liar, look no further than Bill clinton! Can we say perjury? This is a guy who lied so much I think he actually believed himself – “I tried marijuana, but i didn’t inhale” and “I didn’t have sex with that woman” – pathetic and delusional!
As far as leading this country into disasters, if indeed he has, he did so in full view and with support of a Democratic legislature – where were they?
I just don’t get the scathing personal attacks, if you want to disagree with his policy, fine. However, I don’t think Bush is the cold hearted, war mongering villian he’s been made out to be. Right or wrong, he’s just a mortal trying to do the best he can, with the information at hand, in a incredibly thankless and difficult job. All presidents should at least be afforded that recognition and respect.
LOL. More fantastically funny fodder for GW Bush’s “legacy” (please note small “l”). The Worst President EVER got (and is getting online) a small dose of what he deserves. What he really deserves is a massive dose of disrespect followed by impeachment and conviction.
If Clinton didn’t get a well deserved impeachment for blatant perjury, then what makes you think Bush is impeachable on any grounds? Let me guess, you don’t have a warm and fuzzy feeling about him?
“if you want to talk unethical and a pathological liar, look no further than Bill clinton! Can we say perjury?”
You are absolutely right — lying about getting one’s knob polished by a chubby intern is WAAAAAAAAY more serious than lying to mislead the country into a bloody, wasteful and totally unnecessary war.
You obviously are part of the diehard 30% of the population that still thinks Smirky McChimp is doin’ just a fine job. As for me, I’ll take my stand with the 61% of historians polled by the History News Network who agreed Smirky is the worst president ever.
That bears repeating:
The. Worst. President. Ever.
That’s Smirky’s glorious “legacy.” Be proud of it.
Telling the truth under oath is a cornerstone of the American judicial system, and one would think Bill, as an attorney and more importantly the president, would have a deeper respect for it than that. So in point of fact he committed a felony. Fooling around on his wife is a personal problem between he and his family, though it certaily speaks to a profound lack of integrity. Slick Willy is the epitome of a sleaze bag attorney!
You may recall that congress actually voted to go to war in Iraq, it was not done by excutive order. Dem Queen Hilary and many others voted for it, with full access to the same information the president had, so I’m not seeing that he misled any of them. If they thought it was so wrong, why did they approve? Did any of them do their own damn research? As far as I’m concerned, a good many of the Democrats share full responsibility for a war they now find unpopular.
