Liftyโ€™s on Chandler Avenue, just off Mt. Washington Drive and across from Skyline Park, is an ideal spot to hang out with kids while still feeling like an in-the-know adult. Opened in March 2022 by local Chris Justema, the restaurant includes a large beach volleyball court tucked away on the side of the patio, which can be reserved online for $30 an hour. When not reserved, kids are often found shoeless, running in the sand and playing with sand toys from home.

Just past the volleyball court is another dedicated game zone often set up for cornhole. The patio also boasts a ping-pong table, multiple large, open fire pits to gather around and plenty of space heaters around tables so you can soak in the mountain views in warmth on chilly nights โ€” or days.

For those looking for a swanky patio to enjoy with the kids while not breaking the (piggy) bank, check out Hawkeye & Huckleberry Loungeโ€™s happy hour. The lounge, opened last year by celebrity chef Brian Malarkey and his brother, James, offers a happy hour from 4 to 5pm on weekdays. While kids are welcome inside, theyโ€™ll likely have more fun outdoors in the Kids Camp area, which hosts a large canvas tent with a play kitchen, bean bag chairs and games inside to explore alongside firepits for roasting sโ€™mores.
