Marv Ellis, Acoustic Minds at the Downtown Bendistillery Martini Bar
Ellis dishes out super jazzy and world-inspired hip-hop numbers accompanied by his innovative lyrical style. The Portland MC has played shows across the country, as well as in Europe, and this experience is evidenced in his live show, which tonight features Brooks B.
As promised, here’s some video of Hillstomp at the Domino Room on Saturday night. Sorry for the shaky camera work, but all of the dancing hooligans you’ll see on in the video kept bumping into me.
On Saturday night, Empty Space Orchestra pretty much destroyed the Domino Room stage (not literally) with a freakishly tight set before Portland' Hillstomp further decimated said stage with their own killer set. Here's video of Empty Space at its best.

Will Durst at the Tower Theatre
Yeah, yeah, don't give me any more BS about how you're so "worn out" by this year's election to talk about or hear anything about politics. Get yourself to the Tower Theatre tonight and take in the political hilarity of self-described "raging moderate" Will Durst.
Our review of the Keller Williams with Moseley, Droll and Sipe show from last week won’t be in the paper for another few days, but we couldn’t wait any longer to get this to you. Here’s some video of Keller rapping about the importance of getting up early for a day of snowboarding.
Friday Night 11/14: The Dirty Words CD Release Party
The buzz growing around this thing has gotten pretty big this week, so expect a nice amount of folks of all ages (it's an all-ages show) up at the PoetHouse as The Dirty Words celebrate the release of their new record The International Machine. Also on the bill is killer indie rock from Space Hoax and rad-i-cal hip-hop from Mosely Wotta.
It was The Grove, then the Village Bar and Grill, and now the space at 1033 Bond Street is now known as Seven.
The Blender just caught word that the establishment officially changed hands today and new owner Brian Timme, better known as DJ Metal (who put on several dance nights at Jokers - which is now Boondocks), says that Seven is set up as "an upscale nightclub.
Starting today, The Blender is going to do our damndest to bring you a guide for the weekend to come every Friday. We're not saying that our readership is out of touch and needs a blog post to direct them toward non-sucky weekend events, but rather lending a helping hand in whittling down that long mental list of things to do you've compiled while slaving away in your cubicle.
Throughout much of the day yesterday the sky was spitting out snow, much of it mixed with rain, but up on Mt. Bachelor it was dumping.
Election Day is a strangely stressful time for some yet perhaps a relieving moment for others who would just as soon put their hand in a waffle iron rather than watch another nasty TV attack ad. Depending on your views, tomorrow night is either going to be a time to pour a celebratory glass of champagne or an emotion-numbing goblet of bourbon to prepare you for the next few years of the political landscape.
